American Film Institute
In my first year at the American Film Institute, I edited four short films and assisted on three others, gaining a comprehensive understanding of both the creative and technical aspects of filmmaking. Through my sound editing and mixing classes, I’ve mastered the art of layering sounds to evoke emotional reactions from the audience. I’m excited to enhance my skills further by learning Pro Tools next year. I’m also looking forward to enhancing my crafts with guest lectures from industry luminaries.
BBC and Tripod Media
At BBC Studios, I served as an assistant editor (working on Premiere Pro) for the Indian adaptation of Sherlock Holmes, where I set up projects, managed dailies, organized the project, and created a temp stringout for the editor. At Tripod Media, I worked on two documentaries, starting with story pulls, segregating interviews by topic, and transcribing director’s cuts. I then progressed to detailed logging of raw footage on AvidMedia Composer and volunteered for data transfer to LTO systems and basic cable management
Social Media and Marketing Content
Before coming to LA, I worked extensively in the digital realm and social media commercials space. I created lifestyle and vox pop content for prominent political figures, curated and executed social media content for emerging Indian comedians, and edited talk shows and promos for celebrity lifestyle shows. I also designed motion graphics for national network shows, executed real estate promotion projects, and stitched edits promoting tourism content
